Severity, Confidence, Priority

These are different concepts and must not be treated as interchangeable scores.

  • Severity — potential consequence if the condition is true.
  • Confidence — strength and completeness of supporting evidence.
  • Priority — operational order based on severity, business importance, confidence, persistence, and scope.

A high-severity, low-confidence finding should be labeled for investigation—not presented as a confirmed issue.

Public documentation explains the factors that influence priority. Weights, coefficients, normalization, thresholds, and mathematical formulas are not published.
