AI Traffic Overview

AI Traffic helps you understand how AI systems, bots and AI-referred visitors interact with your website. It combines machine-side activity, human referral outcomes, measurement evidence and GEO Audit diagnostics in one workflow.

Your website now serves two audiences: people and machines. The Machine Audience includes crawlers, retrieval systems and AI agents that discover or access content. AI Traffic measures this machine-side activity alongside the human sessions that arrive from AI platforms.

AI Traffic includes Machine Traffic—AI systems and bots accessing the website—and AI Referral Traffic—people arriving from AI platforms.

Two measured flows

Machine Traffic

  • Automated actors
  • Requests or activity events
  • Pages accessed
  • Access outcome where available
  • Identity and likely purpose

AI Referral Traffic

  • Human sessions from AI platforms
  • Landing pages
  • Engagement and journeys
  • Configured goals
  • Orders and revenue where connected

These flows use different units and are never added together. AI Traffic is not the same as AI Referrals alone, and it is distinct from Brand Insights AI Referrals (Estimated).

The AI Traffic loop

Connect measurement
  → Observe activity and outcomes
  → Understand evidence and limitations
→ Investigate a finding or opportunity
→ Run the appropriate GEO Audit
→ Create and implement an action
  → Verify the technical change
→ Wait for real bot or human outcome evidence
→ Monitor for improvement or regression

How AI Traffic fits with other products

  • Brand Insights — how AI systems represent your brand in responses
  • Prompt Intelligence — which prompts and response patterns matter
  • AI Traffic — how AI systems, bots, and AI-referred people interact with your website
